Small business community in Zvishavane is under the threat of foreign currency scarcity, industry decline, and bankruptcy which threatens small business owner to quit the business.

In an interview with one of Zvishavane business owner Tatenda Nhamo further said, shortage of manufacturing industries in Zvishavane is limiting the smooth running of business in Zvishavane as they are importing all their goods from other countries.

“We order all our goods from other countries which is costing us in terms of transport costs which will lead to the high cost in pricing our goods as it varies with the transport costs as we need the profit,

We wish to have our local industry that will manufacture the goods in here in Zvishavane which will help us as business owners to survive in our lines of business even to be able to venture in other businesses.

Another business owner Junior Professor Chinyamaz who is running a clothing boutique in Mandava he said he is facing the price fluctuation were the customers are failing to buy his products.

“Clients are failing to identify the price difference of the fake and original products as they all want to buy the same price of the original goods with same price of the fake products,

For instance, people can buy the fake shoes at a low price that has the same label as the original one and fail to different the fake from the original which led people to flee from my boutique to other shops,

I am facing the challenges of exchange rates as I order my goods outside the country in foreign currency as sell them in local currency for example I sell in EcoCash then it will be hard for me to exchange it to US dollars and rands”

The stiff competition in Zvishavane is becoming a barrier as people are inventing in same line of business which led to the business decline.
